OKC Plane Crash

By Associated Press

Oklahoma City, OK – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) A local businessman has died and four others remain hospitalized after their single-engine plane crashed in Oklahoma City.

The Medical Examiner's Office confirmed late Saturday that 59-year-old Ron Meyer died. A University of Oklahoma Medical Center official said two victims were in fair condition, but she didn't have information about the other two.

The five were traveling in the Beech Bonanza aircraft when it went down just before 9 a.m. Saturday, shortly after it took off from Wiley Post Airport. No one on the ground was injured.

A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman said investigators believe the plane was trying to return to the airport after experiencing engine trouble.

The plane came down in front a Bank of Oklahoma branch along Northwest Expressway.
