OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says two troopers who were wounded in a gun battle in which a suspect was killed remain in stable condition.
The patrol identified the wounded troopers Sunday as Ryan Smith and Chris Bunch. They were wounded in a gun battle Saturday morning that followed a pursuit of the suspect in Del City.
Smith, an eight-year veteran with the patrol, received a facial wound and is expected to remain in an Oklahoma City-area hospital for at least two more days to recover.
Bunch, who has been with the patrol for one year, sustained a leg wound and has been released from the hospital to recover at his home.
The patrol says the identity of the suspect who was killed has not been released.
