OHP: Audit Requested

By Associated Press

Oklahoma City, OK – Audit requested concerning OHP aircraft parts

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The state attorney general's office is asking for an audit concerning aircraft parts at the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

A letter requesting the audit was sent Thursday to state Auditor and Inspector Steve Burrage after Oklahoma County prosecutors asked for help in the matter. It asks for an investigation into possible theft or embezzlement of aircraft parts.

The letter from First Assistant Attorney General Tom Gruber also says there is no evidence to support allegations that OHP administrators misused OHP aircraft. Gruber does suggest though that auditors take a look at the aircraft flight logs.
