Tulsa, OK – Pay reinstated for officers acquitted of charges

(Information in the following story is from: Tulsa World, http://www.tulsaworld.com)

TULSA, Okla. (AP) The city of Tulsa has reinstated pay for two police officers who were acquitted at a federal corruption trial.

According to records, the city issued personnel orders Monday reinstating pay for officers Bruce Bonham and Nick DeBruin, but they remain on administrative leave pending an internal investigation.

Police spokesman Jason Willingham told the Tulsa World the city is researching whether the two will get back pay for the 11 months they've been off work.

A jury acquitted them Friday on all counts. Retired Cpl. Harold R. Wells was convicted on five of 10 counts against him, and is now in the Tulsa Jail.

Bonham's attorney, William Lunn, says he expects internal affairs investigators to review evidence submitted during the trial and for Bonham to be cleared to return to duty.
