NYC Mayor Offers Tulsa Praise

City of Tulsa

Mayor Bill de Blasio of New York City, invited Tulsa's Mayor to Gracie Mansion in New York to thank him for showing the way for peaceful demonstrations in the difficult hours after the police involved shooting of Terrance Crutcher. Mayors Bartlett and de Blasio met yesterday.

Crutcher, a Black man, was shot and killed by a White Tulsa Police Officer in September. Crutcher was unarmed, but toxicology reports say he did have PCP in his system.  The officer is facing 1st Degree Manslaughter charges.

The New York Mayor praised Tulsans for staying cool under very tense circumstances and kept the scenes that happened, in Dallas, Milwaukee, Orlando, Ferguson, and Charlotte from happening in Tulsa.
