Noted Documentary Filmmaker Pierre Sauvage Speaking Soon in Tulsa at a Kristallnacht Commemoration

Aired on Friday, November 10th.

Our guest today on StudioTulsa is Pierre Sauvage, an Emmy Award-winning documentary filmmaker who's also a  child survivor of the Holocaust. He'll be speaking here in Tulsa, on Sunday the 12th, at the 79th Anniversary Kristallnacht Commemoration, beginning at 2pm in the Jewish Federation of Tulsa's Sylvan Auditorium. Sauvage will speak in particular about how the international community responded -- or failed to respond -- to the Holocaust; he has made a few different films exploring this question. Also on today's show, our commentator Barry Friedman is remembering when, about one year ago, a certain American buzzword -- or rallying cry, actually (i.e., "Resist!") -- was born.

Rich Fisher is celebrating his 40th year of service to Public Radio Tulsa. Since 2000, he has been the general manager of Public Radio Tulsa, and previously served as the host of the public affairs program, StudioTulsa, which ran from 1992-2021. Prior to that, he served as music director, a program host and operations director for the station.
