On this edition of our program, we're pleased to speak with the distinguished orchestra conductor, scholar, and educator Leon Botstein, who has been the president of Bard College since 1975. Botstein will deliver the annual Frank Memorial Lecture in Judaism and Contemporary Issues here in Tulsa on Sunday the 7th at 7:30pm. His lecture is entitled "Beyond the Fiddler on the Roof: The European Jewish Experience before 1933 and Contemporary European Anti-Semitism" -- and it will happen in the Sylvan Auditorium at the Charles Schusterman Jewish Community Center (at 2021 East 71st Street). Botstein speaks with us about the ideas, beliefs, and historical events that his upcoming lecture will touch upon, and also talks about his progressive educational views more generally. Also on our show, commentator Jeff Martin is thinking about "The Shawshank Redemption" as that well-known film marks its 20th anniversary this year.
