Norman Police Look into Incident of Man Shot by Officers

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — The Norman Police Department is investigating an incident in which a man was shot by officers near the University of Oklahoma campus.

Police responded to a call of a man threatening to shoot people around 5 p.m.

Norman police say officers made contact with a man on the scene who remained uncooperative and continued to threaten the officers. The department reports that officers fired shots and debilitated the man.

Officers administered medical attention to the man until emergency medics arrived at the scene. The man was transported to a nearby hospital, and his condition is unknown.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
