Tulsa Public Schools

The Tulsa School Board is slowing its search for a new School Superintendent. It had been expected the board would announce a new leader for the Tulsa Public Schools during a meeting this evening.  However, the board changed its plans yesterday.

The board says tonight's meeting has been canceled and rescheduled for Wednesday. It will be an executive session, so most of the meeting will will closed to the public.  A news release says the board hopes to announce a new superintendent one-week from today on February 2nd.

The board has narrowed the field of candidates to the top two. They are Deborah Gist and Millard House II. Both are native Tulsans. Gist is the Rhode Island Education Commissioner. House is a former Tulsa assistant superintendent who has been most recently in North Carolina.
