No Damage in Latest Tornado Outbreak

By AP

Tulsa, OK – No injuries reported with possible tornado in Okla.

TULSA, Okla. (AP) Authorities say a possible tornado may have touched down in an unpopulated area of southeast Oklahoma.

The National Weather Service says a large tornado was reported on the ground in southern Le Flore County early Tuesday evening, but emergency management director Michael Davidson said there were no towns in the vicinity. Southern LeFlore County is covered by the Ouachita National Forest and the Kiamichi Mountains.

Warnings also were issued for Atoka and Pushmataha counties, but there was no immediate confirmation that any tornadoes touched down. Officials said there were no reports of injuries or property damage.

Last week, tornadoes ripped through southeast Oklahoma, killing two people and injuring at least 43 others in the Atoka County town of Tushka. Dozens of homes and businesses were damaged or destroyed.
