Next Time on All This Jazz: "Pop" Goes the Solo! (or, Jazz Greats Doing Pop & Rock Hits)

Please come along for the next broadcast of All This Jazz, beginning at 10pm on Saturday the 30th -- right here on Public Radio 89.5 (KWGS-FM)...and online via live stream at PublicRadioTulsa.org.

In the first half of the program, we'll hear from the SF Jazz Collective, Jimmy Cobb, Mathias Eick (shown here), and many more.

And then, for our dedicated and ever-so-appreciated late-night listeners, the second-hour theme of ATJ will be Jazz Greats Doing Pop & Rock Hits. We'll therefore hear jazz impressions of tuneful ditties from The Beach Boys, Stevie Wonder, Feist, The Carpenters (no kidding -- and it's killer stuff), Joe Jackson, etc.

It'll be lovely. And lovelier still, I'd say, if you could adjust your calendar to be there with us.

(The fine print: All This Jazz [please see recent playlist data here] airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5, from 10pm till midnight. We always thereafter offer a 7pm re-airing of the program on Sunday evening, on Jazz 89.5-2, which is our station's all-jazz HD Radio channel. Each week, we spin modern jazz, both recent and classic, across a range of styles. And the second half of our two-hour program, beginning at 11pm, invariably carries a theme. Also, for those of you so inclined: All This Jazz now maintains a Facebook page. Thank you.)

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
