So many themes of his -- "Bewitched" and "My Funny Valentine," "Spring Is Here" and "I Have Dreamed," "People Will Say We're in Love" and "This Nearly Was Mine," and "Shall We Dance?" and "With a Song in My Heart," just for openers -- are fundamental to the soundtrack of postwar American pop culture. Surely among the greatest of the Great American Songwriters, Rodgers is therefore also responsible for several jazz standards, including all the tunes cited above -- and we'll hear most of those, and others, when we present a wide range of jazz greats doing The Music of Richard Rodgers.
