New York Chamber Soloists Orchestra and Pianist Menahem Pressler on Performance Oklahoma

This week Performance Oklahoma presents the New York Chamber Soloists Orchestra and pianist Menahem Pressler from Armstrong Auditorium On Tuesday, March 18th the Armstrong International Cultural Foundation’s Performing Arts Series welcomed the New York Chamber Soloists Orchestra and pianist Menahem Pressler to Armstrong Auditorium for an evening devoted to works for chamber orchestra and solo piano. Now in its sixth decade, The New York Chamber Soloists Orchestra offer an expansive repertoire of some 300 pieces representing both vocal and instrumental genres written across five centuries and often appear with some of the world's most celebrated soloists.

Pianist Menahem Pressler has established himself among the world’s most distinguished and honored musicians, with a career that spans almost six decades. Turning 90 this past December, Mr. Pressler continues to captivate audiences throughout the world as performer and pedagogue, performing solo and chamber music recitals to great critical acclaim while maintaining a dedicated and robust teaching career.The program features the Romances for Violin and Orchestra by Ludwig van Beethoven, the Rondo for solo piano in a minor, K 511 and the Piano Concerto No. 27 in B-flat Major, K 595 by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Appalachian Spring in the original 13 instrument scoring by Aaron Copland.
