Sapulpa,OK – 50-year-old Creek County man dies in shooting

SAPULPA, Okla. (AP) Creek County authorities say a 50-year-old man has been fatally shot after spending the night drinking with his girlfriend.

Sheriff's deputies were called to a home south of Sapulpa about 3 a.m. Saturday after receiving a report about a female being choked.

Upon arriving, sheriff's office Lt. Charles Redfern says the deputies found the man with a gunshot wound to the head and a female lying atop him with a knife wound to her throat.

Authorities say the woman told the deputies the pair had been drinking all night before arguing about a gun and a knife. Redfern says it's unclear what the argument was about but that deputies have been called to the home on multiple occasions in the past.
