Pryor, OK – Mayes County gets Cherokee Nation Industries jobs

PRYOR, Okla. (AP) The telecommunications division of Cherokee Nation Industries is adding 32 new jobs to Mayes County's MidAmerica Industrial Park.

CNI hosted an open house Wednesday to showcase a 143,000-square foot building where workers complete more than 100 distribution orders a day. Officials say CNI's steady growth over the past several years required a larger building than the 25,000-square foot facility it previously occupied.

CNI employees help fulfill a contract with AT&T by distributing equipment and parts to AT&T satellite offices. The company serves about 60 clients, shipping orders to all 50 states and every U.S. territory.

The building now used by CNI formerly housed Labinal, Inc., a company that made wire harnesses for the aerospace industry. Labinal left Oklahoma in 2009.

CNI's telecommunications division was previously located in Tahlequah.
