New Oklahoma Lawmakers Vote Against Sandy Relief

File Photo

The bill to provide nearly $9.7 billion in Sandy relief passes Congress by a landslide.

That’s despite Oklahoma’s two freshman congressmen, Jim Bridenstine and Markwayne Mullin, voting against it.

The bill passed by a vote of 354 – 67. The measure authorizes the National Flood Insurance Program to borrow the funds to meet the claims filed by victims of superstorm Sandy.
