New Muskogee Jobs

Muskogee, OK – Company plans wind tower facility in Muskogee

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) A veteran steel fabrication entrepreneur says his new company plans to build a 175,000-square-foot wind turbine manufacturing facility in Muskogee.

Tom Word, the founder of Eagle Claw Fabrication LLC, says about 175 jobs should be created during the first phase of the project. Word says construction on the $28 million facility should begin in the third quarter of this year and it could open as early as next spring.

The 47-acre site where the facility will be built is within the jurisdictional boundaries of the Port of Muskogee. Word says Eagle Claw will be able to acquire its basic raw material and distribute its final product using trucks, railroads or barge.

Word says he has been involved in the steel fabrication industry for 35 years.
