Jan Slaters is the new CEO of OSUMC

Tulsa, OK – St. John Health System has named Jan Slater to the position of Oklahoma State University Medical Center (OSUMC) chief executive officer. A seasoned medical executive with more than 33 years experience in healthcare management, Slater has served as interim chief executive officer upon OSUMC's transfer of ownership from Ardent Health Services to the OSUMC Trust on April 30, 2009.

"We are fortunate to have Jan leading OSUMC leadership as we begin a new chapter in the hospital's history," says David Pynn, St. John Health System chief operating officer. "Jan's impressive background and health care experience will enable her to quickly address the transitional needs of OSUMC, as well as plan for its long-term growth."

"My fellow Trustees and I have worked closely with Jan as acting CEO for the last several months, and I am most impressed with her scope of expertise, as well as her enthusiasm for the mission of this hospital," says Robert Poe, OSUMC Trust chairman. Prior to her position with OSUMC, Slater served as corporate legal counsel to St. John Health System, a position she held since 1991. Other hospital management experience includes serving as operations vice president for Via Christi Oklahoma Regional Medical Center in Ponca City, from 1985 to 1987. Slater served as director of information and data, as well as rural hospital liaison for the Oklahoma Hospital Association from 1983 to 1985.
