By AP

Antlers, OK –

Oklahoma trooper in deadly shootout identified

ANTLERS, Okla. (AP) The Oklahoma Highway Patrol is releasing the name of the trooper involved in a shootout that killed two Texas men suspected of robbing a bank in Wright City.

Lt. George Brown says Trooper Eric Blades is on paid leave pending an investigation into the Thursday afternoon shooting near Antlers that killed Jeremy Dysart of North Richland Hills and Justin Whisenhunt of White Settlement.

Authorities were chasing a pickup truck carrying Dysart, Whisenhunt and Rachel Spear of the Dallas area when the truck stopped near an OHP roadblock on Oklahoma Highway 3. Dysart and Whisenhunt were shot when the gun battle erupted after they were stopped.

Spear was arrested on a bank robbery complaint.
