New Hiking Trail Coming to Sand Springs

Lions, tigers, and bears are definitely not things you will see coming to Sand Springs Park but an addition of a one mile hiking trail just might be.  The Wilson Trail will be the first trail with a difficulty rating that allows for a more physically challenging route for experienced hikers. Including this new addition the park now has 4.4 miles of trails with a variety of difficulty levels so outdoor enthusiasts of all ages can enjoy nature.

The idea behind this addition was to give visitors an idea of what Oklahoma and the Sand Springs area would have looked and felt like to early travelers. The forest will be open for use anytime at the listed weekend on the Sand Springs Park website. The first hike will take place on October Fourth and early in the 2015 season there will be a "Hike with your Dog Day" on January First.

To see a full schedule or to get any other information, hikers are encouraged to "like" the Keystone Ancient Forest on Facebook for all updates.
