New Edmond Mayor

By AP

Edmond, OK – Longtime Edmond City Councilman Charles Lamb is to be sworn in as the interim mayor of the Oklahoma City suburb.

The ceremony is scheduled for 5:15 p.m. Monday in the council chambers.

Lamb has served 16 years on the City Council and has been mayor pro tem since 2003. He will finish the term of former Mayor Patrice Douglas that expires in spring 2013.

Douglas resigned in October after being appointed to the state Corporation Commission by Gov. Mary Fallin.

The City Council has also selected Councilman David Miller as the new mayor pro tem and will later appoint a person to serve out the remainder of Lamb's term on the council.
