After an extensive and competitive recruiting process, Krista Flasch has been named the Director of Communications for the City of Broken Arrow and will start on April 16th.
Flasch, who most recently has served as a Marketing Coordinator for KFR Services, brings 13 years of communication experience to Broken Arrow. At KFR Services, Flasch was responsible for managing the communication strategy, developing social media networks, updating website content and deploying marketing campaigns. She has an extensive background in news media and first-hand experience in the Tulsa area media market. Flasch’s covered the news for KJRH TV in Tulsa as a Multi-Media Journalist from 2007-2011. During her time at KJRH, Flasch was recognized by the Oklahoma Society of Professional Journalists for coverage of the 2008 Picher Tornado. Prior to KJRH, Flasch worked as a Specialty Reporter for WCBD TV in Charleston, South Carolina, where she contributed local news stories for the Charleston region and for national affiliates. She covered the G8 Summit at Sea Island, Georgia in 2004.
“Broken Arrow is a great city, with people who are proud to live there, and I want to continue to help the city be recognized as one of the best places to live,” Flasch said. “I became interested in the Director of Communication position with Broken Arrow because I reported stories on Broken Arrow, and I was impressed by the professionalism displayed by past Directors of Communication.”
