Murder Trial for Former Tulsa Cop Underway

Jury selection is getting underway in Tulsa District Court in the First Degree Murder Trial of Shannon Kepler. Kepler is a former Tulsa Police officer who is accused of shooting and killing his estranged daughter's boyfriend, Jeremy Lake,  in 2014.

Judge Sharon Holmes will preside over the trail after several attempts by the defense to have her removed from the case.

Kepler is accused of driving to a home, just west of downtown, hooting and killing Lake, whom he had just met.  Kepler is accused of firing several other shots in the neighborhood. He was not on duty at the time.

Shortly after charges were filed, Kepler retired from the Tulsa Police Department.
