TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Jury selection is to begin for the trial of a woman charged in the death of her son after she failed to seek medical care for him.

Susan Grady is charged with second-degree manslaughter for the June 5th, 2009, death of her 9-year-old son Aaron from complications from diabetes.

Jury selection is to begin Tuesday.

Grady told Broken Arrow police that she believed her son would healed through prayer and faith. Grady is a member of the Church of the Firstborn — who critics say teaches reliance on faith rather than medical care to treat illness.

Church of the Firstborn Bishop Dan Davis in Tulsa says that members believe God can heal any illness. But Davis says he doesn't condemn anyone who seeks medical attention.
