Tulsa, OK – Ground is broken for a brand new Tulsa bridge over the Arkansas River.

The bridge at Interstate 244 will be a double-decker bridge, the first of its kind in Oklahoma. The bridge will have motor traffic on one deck with rail and pedestrian traffic available on another deck.

The work will be paid for with a combination of federal and state dollars. The project will be managed by the Oklahoma Department of Transportation. It is expected to cost about 64-million dollars. It should take about a year-and-a-half to completed.
