More Oklahoma Flu Deaths, Hospitals Busy

There is a dramatic increase in the number of flu deaths in Oklahoma. In the last week, six people have died of the flu in the state. That brings the total, since the first of October, to 14.

According to stats released today in Oklahoma City, 204 new cases were confirmed last week. Most of the new cases tested positive for Flu-A.

In Oklahoma, 71 people were hospitalized last week with the flu. That is actually down from 100 the week before. Since the first of October, 611 people have been admitted to the hospital with the flu in Oklahoma.

Health officials stress it is not too late to get a flu shot. They urge you to wash you hands often and stay at home if you are ill.
