Tulsa, OK – Flooding reported along Illinois River in Oklahoma

TULSA, Okla. (AP) The National Weather Service is reporting major flooding along the Illinois River in eastern Oklahoma.

The river was just above 28 feet at Watts Tuesday morning and at nearly 25 feet at Tahlequah. The flood stages are 13 feet at Watts and 11 feet at Tahlequah.

Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management spokeswoman Michelann Ooten said no injuries have been reported. Ooten says flooded roads and bridges were reported in counties along the eastern border of the state from Craig, Mayes and Delaware counties in the northeast to Le Flore and McCurtain counties in the southeast.

The weather service says showers and thunderstorms are likely again Tuesday with severe thunderstorms possible in eastern Oklahoma.
