Moore Schools Denies Firing Teacher for Praying

MOORE, Okla. (AP) — The superintendent of Moore Public Schools is "adamantly" denying that any teacher has been fired for praying with students when a killer tornado approached two of the district's elementary schools.

Superintendent Susan Pierce said Sunday that the allegation is "offensive and insulting" and that no teacher has been fired.

Monday's tornado destroyed Plaza Towers Elementary School and heavily damaged Briarwood Elementary. Seven students at Plaza Towers were killed.
