Muskogee, OK – Burger King employee returns envelope with cash

MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) A 28-year-old Burger King employee is being praised after turning in a bank envelope containing money a customer accidentally dropped at the restaurant.

Charlotte Benson says she dropped the envelope containing $45, which the 62-year-old woman planned to use to have a bed delivered. Employee Tiffany Stopp says she had been working at the drive-thru window when she walked by the counter and saw the envelope.

Stopp noticed the envelope and gave it to store manager Sean Keister. He verified the amount of money and locked the envelope in his safe.

When Benson called the restaurant, she was delighted to learn the envelope had been found and all the money was still in it.

Benson says she tried to give Stopp and Keister a tip but that they declined it.
