Tulsa, Okla. – TULSA, Okla. (AP) Police in Tulsa say they've arrested a man for falsely reporting his 6-year-old daughter was inside his stolen pickup truck.
Police say Michael Hankins reported his truck stolen about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and that he said his daughter was inside to get a faster response from officers.
Sgt. Michael Brown says police were about to initiate an Amber Alert when officers began to suspect the story wasn't true. Brown says Hankins then admitted his daughter wasn't in the truck and he was arrested for filing a false police report.
Police say the missing pickup has not been found.
