Minor Earthquake Recorded in Central Oklahoma
SPENCER, Okla. (AP) — The US Geological Survey has recorded a small earthquake during the weekend near Spencer in central Oklahoma.
The USGS reports the 2.1 magnitude quake was recorded at 9:34 p.m. Saturday about three miles northwest of Spencer. The area is about six miles northeast of Oklahoma City.
Geologists report that earthquakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are generally the smallest that are felt by humans and that damage is not usually seen from tremors of below magnitude 4.0.
