Heat indices have dropped into the 70s across northeast Oklahoma, well behind the cold front. Along and ahead of the boundary, heat index values range from 90 to around 100. These values will improve dramatically through the early morning hours as drier air filters into the region. Much more seasonable temperatures are expected on Sunday, with highs in the 80s, rather than mid to upper 90s. Drier air will also make it feel more pleasant. The next chance for showers and storms arrives Monday night into Tuesday morning.
