Meetings Set for School Bonds

Tulsa Public Schools

Tulsa Public Schools is hosting two public forums to discuss the proposed 2015 bond package. District officials will respond to questions, comments and concerns from the public at the forums. Parents and community members are invited to attend either informational session.

The forums are scheduled for 5:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 4, at Memorial High School, 5840 S. Hudson Ave.; and 5:30-7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9, at East Central High School, 12150 E. 11th St.

The proposal was officially recommended to the board of education at its Dec. 1 meeting and the board will vote at the Dec. 15 meeting whether to put it before Tulsa residents in early March.

The prospective $415 million bond would focus on capital improvement projects districtwide -- including plans for a centralized STEM center, replacing portable buildings with permanent classroom additions and the construction of a new school on Tulsa's east side.
