Tulsa, Oklahoma – On today's show, we speak by phone with Ian McEwan, the renowned author of "Atonement," "Amsterdam," "Enduring love," "On Chesil Beach," and several other novels --- including the recently published "Solar," a satirical novel about global warming. McEwan is also the recipient of this year's Peggy V. Helmerich Distinguished Author Award, which is given annually by Tulsa Library Trust. On today's show, McEwan speaks about certain themes that appear in his latest novel, his overall approach to composing fiction, his concurrent work as a screenwriter and librettist, and his own feelings and impressions about collaboration among artists. Also, he will appear at a free-to-the-public presentation at 10:30am on Saturday the 4th (tomorrow) at the TCCL's Central Library in downtown Tulsa. At this event, he will speak about his life and works, answer questions from the audience, and sign books. For more information, please call 918-549-7323 or visit tulsalibrary.org.
