Tulsa, Oklahoma – On this edition of our show, we speak by phone with William S. Becker, a well-known energy and climate policy consultant. Becker is also a noted expert in the field of sustainable development and disasters, and he'll be the keynote speaker at tonight's 8th Annual Nania Awards Banquet, which is presented by Tulsa Partners, an area non-profit committed to building a disaster-resistant and sustainable community. Here's is a "bio" of Becker that comes from the Tulsa Partners website: "William Becker is a consultant on energy and climate policy at Natural Capitalism Solutions in Colorado. From 2007 [until earlier this year], he was Executive Director of the Presidential Climate Action Project, a foundation-funded enterprise that engaged hundreds of experts to develop more than 200 recommendations for climate action by the Obama Administration. [Becker also] served for 15 years at the U.S. Department of Energy, the last 10 as the DOE's Central Regional Director. He is a national expert on sustainable community development . . . [having] helped dozens of communities create sustainable development plans, many in post-disaster situations." We speak with Becker today about his wide-ranging professional experiences.
