OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Dozens of students from Oklahoma State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine are meeting with state lawmakers.

Today's meeting will allow the 42 students who are expected to attend to offer opinions on the importance of having the OSU Medical Center.

The center is the largest osteopathic teaching hospital in the country and serves as the primary training facility for OSU medical students. It logs 46,000 emergency room visits each year and provided more than $24.5 million in charity care last year.

Students are also scheduled to meetwith members of the Oklahoma Osteopathic Association for a presentation on current issues in health care.
