Tulsa Public Schools' McLain Advisory Committee will host a meeting for students, parents and community members. The meeting will take place from 6-7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, at McLain High School, 4929 N. Peoria Ave.

The purpose of this meeting is to share information with parents and community members about the State Department of Education partnership with Tulsa Public Schools.

The C3 (College, Citizen and & Career Readiness) Partnership will include a variety of benefits for students in the district. The C3 Partnership will also develop a new instructional model to address student achievement at McLain Junior High and High Schools, which will be identified as a C3 Partnership School. With community input, the goal of the partnership is to develop targeted and tailored strategies to improve student growth and achievement.

"We cannot emphasize enough the important role the Tulsa community will play in transforming McLain High School and Junior High, and the Advisory Committee is integral to the process," said Dr. Keith Ballard, TPS superintendent. "It is really too early to say what new ideas will emerge from this community partnership with TPS and the State Department of Education. However, we can assure you that it will be highly collaborative and community input, combined with the needs of our students, is going to be central to the process."
