OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Authorities say a man has died after he was shot by police in northwest Oklahoma City.
The shooting happened after officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle at about 8 p.m. Monday. Police Capt. Dexter Nelson says the suspect led officers on a pursuit before he stopped the car and ran away.
Nelson says the suspect refused to obey officers' commands and then turned toward police with a large knife in his hand. That's when police opened fire.
Nelson says the man was taken to an Oklahoma City hospital, where he later died
