Man Dies in Custody

Oklahoma City – OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (AP) Officials are investigating after a man who was wrestled to the ground by Oklahoma City police officers died while in custody.

Police say the man collapsed shortly after officers arrested him Monday night. Master Sgt. Gary Knight says he was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Police say officers were responding to a report of suspicious activity when they spotted the man outside a store.

Knight says the man dropped a gun and ran off once he saw the officers.

Police say that a struggled ensued after the officers caught up to him.

The man's name has not been released.
