Man Dies After Police Shooting in Northeast Oklahoma

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says a man has died after a police shooting in Tahlequah.

OSBI spokesman Charlie Mackey says the shooting happened around noon Saturday after four Tahlequah Police Department officers responded to a report of two men with guns. Officers told state investigators that they found one man with a gun and a stolen pickup.

Mackey says a man was shot and later pronounced dead at a Tulsa hospital. It's unclear if another man was involved.

It's also unclear how many officers fired at the suspect or what prompted the shooting.

No other injuries were injured.

The identities of those involved haven't been released.

Chief Nate King didn't return calls for comment.
