Man Charged in Death of NSU Professor

OSBI

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. (AP) — Authorities in Cherokee County say an Oklahoma man has been charged with first-degree murder in the May death of a Northeastern State University professor.

Joshua Schneider was charged Monday with the slaying of professor Tiffany Maher, whose body was found in her Tahlequah home.

Prosecutors also charged Schneider with two counts of first-degree arson and three counts of larceny, according to online court records.

There was no information listed for a defense attorney in the records for the 33-year-old.

Schneider was arrested over the weekend after his girlfriend surrendered to police. She was still shown Monday as being held in the Tulsa Jail.
