TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Police in Tulsa say a man in Texas has been arrested on a murder charge in the 1994 beating death of a woman in Tulsa.
Sgt. Dave Walker announced Friday that 52-year-old Leroy Edward Gilbert Jr. was arrested Thursday in Bonham, Texas, on a first-degree murder warrant in the death of Erma Goodou at Goodou's home in north Tulsa.
Walker says DNA evidence taken from the scene was matched to Gilbert in February 2014.
Court records do not list an attorney for Gilbert.
Walker says Gilbert lived within a mile of Goodou's home at the time she was killed.
