Man Arrested in Case of Drone Found at Oklahoma Prison

File photo

McALESTER, Okla. (AP) — Authorities have arrested an Oklahoma man accused of kidnapping a woman and forcing her to fly a contraband-filled drone over the Oklahoma State Penitentiary.

Online court records show 29-year-old Marquis Gilkey is charged with attempting to bring contraband into the prison, conspiracy and kidnapping. No attorney is listed for him and he's jailed on $25,000 bond.

An affidavit alleges that Gilkey kidnapped a woman who often visited an inmate at the prison and forced her to buy and help fly a drone into the facility. The drone caught on wire fencing and fell inside the prison walls where it was found with marijuana, two hacksaw blades, a cellphone, cigarettes, cigars, glue, methamphetamines and heroin.

Investigators said a digital card found inside the drone showed pictures of the suspect.
