A lengthy Tulsa Police stand-off ends with the suspect arrested behind a tree at the Hardesty Library in South Tulsa.

Authorities say 61 year-old Stan Majors shot his neighbor Friday evening in the 9300 block of South 85th East Avenue. (southeast of 91st and Memorial). Police say the neighbor was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

Police believed Majors retreated to his home. However, after several hours to trying to get him to come out, members of the department's Special Operations Team entered the house and found it to be empty.

Minutes later Majors was found hiding behind a tree at the nearby Hardesty Library. He was taken into custody and booked on numerous complaints, including First Degree Murder.

Sources say there was a history of "bad-blood" between Majors and the neighbor. What prompted Friday night's shooting is unknown.
