Man Arrested after Standoff with Tulsa Police

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Tulsa police say a man is in jail after a four-hour standoff near the University of Tulsa campus.

Police say the man allegedly threatened two people with a machete then barricaded himself inside an apartment near campus. The  incident began Sunday night at about 11 p.m.

Police accuse the man of trying to attack his brother and a woman with the machete. The two were able to escape the home unharmed.

Police say the standoff ended at about 3 a.m. Monday, when officers fired pepper balls into the apartment to force the man out. No one was injured.

Police have not released the man's name.
