Oklahoma City, OK – Oklahoma statehouse hopefuls win nominations

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Former state Rep. Rob Johnson has been elected to a seat in the Oklahoma Senate being vacated by his term-limited father, state Sen. Mike Johnson of Kingfisher.

Rob Johnson defeated Bob Barnett and Bob Bradway for the Republican nomination in Tuesday's GOP primary election. Johnson was automatically elected because no Democrat sought the seat.

In another race, Democrat Rep. John Auffet of Stilwell will be in a runoff on Aug. 24.

With all of the votes counted, Auffet had about 45 percent of the vote. His runoff opponent was not immediately known because only 12 votes separated fellow Democrats Jeff Collyge of Westville and William Fourkiller of Stilwell.
