Major Weather Changes in Oklahoma

Oklahoma City, OK – Rain, snow possible as storm moves across Oklahoma

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) There could be heavy rain, heavy snow or a little bit of both, depending on where you live in Oklahoma.

The National Weather Service says the Oklahoma Panhandle could see some snow Friday as a powerful storm system blows through the region and temperatures tumble. Forecasters say any snow accumulations are expected to remain under an inch.

In other parts of the state, rain and isolated thunderstorms are possible, but there's only a slim chance that the storms could be strong to severe.

Forecaseters say it's more likely that central and eastern Oklahoma will get some much-needed rain, with as much as much as two inches of precipitation possible in some areas.

According to the Oklahoma Climatological Survey, the state particularly southwestern Oklahoma has been drier than average this autumn.
