Major Apartment Fire in Muskogee

Muskogee, OK – Fire fighters in Muskogee battle multiple alarm fire in intense heat. The blaze left 28-people homeless at the Shady Hallow Apartments. The fire broke out just before five o'clock in the morning. The temperature at the time was in the upper 70s, but jumped into the 90s by mid-morning.

The American Red Cross was called to the scene to help rehabilitate dehydrated fire fighters. The agency was also helping the displaced residents with basic needs.

No people were injured, however one pet died in the blaze. Muskogee Fire Fighters say 16-apartment units were destroyed.
