Let the Booting Begin; City Cracks Down on Overdue Parkers

City of Tulsa

City security personnel received a list of nuisance vehicles with multiple outstanding parking tickets at mid-morning Monday and had booted four vehicles before noon.

The search for nuisance vehicles began Monday in the wake of a three-week parking ticket amnesty period in which motorists were able to pay their outstanding tickets without paying court costs and late fees.

Vehicles booted now will have to pay fines, late fees and court costs before the end of the business day at Tulsa Municipal Courts, 600 Civic Center, 2nd floor,  or at the City Hall cashier windows at 175 E. 2nd St., or their vehicles will towed and impounded until fines are paid.  Vehicle owners will have to pay towing and storage fees which can drive the price of a $15 parking ticket to nearly $300. Check to see if you are on the list.

Cash, Mastercards and Visa cards are accepted.

Some 680 overdue parking tickets were paid during the three-week amnesty period, with nearly half of that number – 313 tickets – being paid on the final day last Friday.   The effort brought in $14,085 in fines.
