Legal Representation Rejected for Former Tulsa Police Officer

Legal representation for a former Tulsa police officer is denied Thursday by the Tulsa City Council. Jeff Henderson sought representation in cases where he and the city were being sued. He will now have to pay his own legal bills.

Henderson was one of three police officers convicted and jailed after a police corruption scandal in 2011. The case stemmed around people sentenced to prison based on bogus information and testimony in part from Henderson. Those people had their sentences vacated and are now suing both the City of Tulsa and Henderson.

Henderson asked for city representation at last night’s Tulsa City Council meeting. The council denied his request.
